May-Class teacher was released for an afternoon to recieve training in active board software from another staff member.
May-- LT-- I shared our wiki space with the class to try and get them excited about making their own class site. It was modelled how to add a page and how to edit text. Vhildren started by putting their poems on the wiki.
June 11 LT went into teach a group how to add easi speak onto powerpoint to make a book of fluent reading examples. Teacher intends for them to teach others and have the book as a reading activity for others to listen to.
Junly 27th LT in to show class in groups of 3 how to use track changes tool bar on word so they can show editing in stroy writing. teacher planning to use laptops and class computer during writing time.

With the help of the lead teacher ( my grateful thanks to her) my students are using technology more and more in the class and I am becoming more confident as well. The students are now beginning to use the easi speak onto our wiki pages, so this will make our wiki more intresting. They are also investigating ways of getting a new classintroductory pag for the wiki.
The children recently wroye up poems on the computer and were more confient selectingg fonts, size etc and it took no time at all - especially when using the pod.
The class have used the internet to do research for their speeches, and also to answer questions that arise with in the classroom. For example there was a disagreement on whether or not a cube had two or three faces - a quick search by a student found the answer.
Using the tracking changes tool bar will enable me as the teacher to monitor the editing processes going on when my students are using the computer for any type of written language.
I am using the data projector / interactive board each maths session. I have decided that I will start with one curriculum area and get that up and running, and then increase the usage into other areas. The NZ maths digital objects have been useful, the children need to be in smaller work groups that I orginally thought. I also need to give more time for the children to read up how to use/ manipulate the various activities.
It really is about my confidence, and with the help of Sue and the great kids in the class we are trying new things and becoming more ICT literate.

The students are using technology increasing throughout the curriculum. The skills they have learnt through Sue coming into the class and teaching a group of students has been invaluable. The students have then taught others in the class so all have the skills. The interactive white board is being used increasing over most of the curriculum. U tube, internet, power points are all being used by the students. I do not believe the students in this class would be so confident and capable using technology if I have not had the support of Sue ( thru the technology contract). I have also found the sessions with Jill inspiring and have gone back to the class and tried out things for myself. The students in my class have certainly benefitted through this contract.
